The State Council approved establishing high-quality development demonstration zones in the Ganzhou old revolutionary base in East China's Jiangxi province and the Minxi old revolutionary base in East China’s Fujian province, according to a circular issued on March 15.

The circular stressed full implementation of new development concepts, faster fostering of the new development paradigm and sticking to people-centered policies.

While encouraging old revolutionary base areas to stimulate endogenous dynamics and unleash vitality through their comparative advantages, the circular recommended constructing the areas to a better level to offer local people better quality of life and make themselves a model for rejuvenating other old revolutionary bases.

Related departments should coordinate pairing assistance between Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen and Sanming, Longyan and Ganzhou and give full play to the role of inter-ministerial joint conferences in supporting the revitalization of Gannan (southern Jiangxi province) and other parts of the former Central Soviet areas.
