Premier Li Keqiang on Jan 17 congratulated Mikhail Mishustin for his appointment as the new prime minister of Russia.

In recent years, China and Russia have maintained a high-level comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, and deepened cooperation in fields such as trade and economy, investment, energy, people-to-people exchange and regional affairs, Premier Li said in a congratulatory message to Mishustin.

In 2019, also the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations, President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has entered a new era, ushering in a new chapter for bilateral relations, he said.

Premier Li said he looks forward to working with Mishustin to promote bilateral cooperation to a higher level and add more vigor to the relations of the two countries.
