Vice-Premier Liu He called for persevering efforts to break new ground in the development of China’s aviation industry at the symposium commemorating the industry’s 70th anniversary in Beijing on April 16.

Liu also is a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Over the past 70 years, China has built up a modern aviation industrial system from scratch through innovation and hard work under the strong leadership of the Party, Liu said.

Facing the opportunities and challenges ahead, work should be done to accurately size up international and domestic changes, and grasp trends in technology reforms to make a medium and long-term development plan.

He also stressed self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology, cultivation of talents, and improvement in industrial chains to further develop the industry.
